looking at atkinsons 1973 stranraer. the lorry on the left showing only the tail was thomas stringfellow's leyland "shannondoah",it is parked near the road side of shettleston rd glasgow now. I am almost positive that the aec on the right was my fathers thomas hiscoe's. great photos, thanks for the memories.

HMS 22 was an ex J & A Smith of Maddiston lorry. I remember seeing passing through Carlisle regularly in the late 1950 early 60s.

HMS 22 was definitely new (1955) to ROAD SERVICES FORTH, as fleet no. 154, being one of the very first brand new vehicles purchased by them

I think that is Alan Crow's Dodgem load. I don't think John Willie Adcroft had a fold up dodgem at thay time.

This looks very much like an ex D.Steven of Wick lorry, clues, long wheelbase 8 wheeler, horses head painting on cab front, named vehicle in tartan band and Caithness registration. AEC coach badge must be an extra adornment.

According to Westmorland County Records department this ERF was supplied new 7th Feb 1952 to T. B Sayer, Shadforth House, Brough. The company of Ben Sayer still operates today.

JMS 982 was new in 1956 as Road Services Forth no. 322, and was a Leyland Octopus 8 wheel tanker! A later owner must obviously have done some major surgery!

This S21 cabbed Foden was new to W. Johnston , Livestock Haulier of Kirkpatrick Fleming.I believe it still exists in Jimmy Slaters yard.

This Atkinson was not Johnny Codonas, it was Albert Milne's used with the dodgem. This lorry and the dodgem is still owned by Thomas Evans.

The lorry is my father's Colin Cowie who passed away in june 94, it was bought from Walter Parker and was later turned into a funhouse which you also have a photo of with the front boards fitted and I painted with clowns, I would be interested if you may have any other photos of either our lorries or equipment, mainly our maxwell's standing bottom regards Natalie Cowie-Kayes
